1811	The Union Society opened the augmented bells at St. Mary, Shrewsbury, with a peal of 5219 Grandsire Caters, conducted by William Bull. Samuel Lee was in the band. Richard Cross, one of their usual members did not ring, but took part in a peal the next day (q.v.)	nv
1899	Arthur Craven published a new method in The Bell News, Yorkshire Surprise Major. It differed from the current method by having first's place made at the half-lead instead of seventh's as at present. Revd. E.
