1883	After their abortive attempt a month earlier, the Ancient Society of College Youths was successful in ringing the record length of Stedman Caters. The “Five-ones”, or 11,111 changes, took 7 hours and 2 minutes. As in the previous attempt, they rang it at Fulham, and the composition was by Henry Johnson. James Pettit was the conductor. 1888	John W Taylor, Jnr. conducted 9,120 Kent Treble Bob Major in 5 hours and 38 minutes at Quarndon, Leicestershire. Two other peals of Kent longer than usual were also rung that day; one of 6,144 changes at Ecclesfield, Yorkshire and another of 5,568 changes at Woodbridge, Suffolk. Another “first” was claimed when the Burton-on-Trent ringers rang a peal of London Surprise Major at All Saints, Fulham, quoting it as “the first actual peal of London in London”	nv

1983	A new ring of six was dedicated at the Roman Catholic church of the Sacred Heart, Richmond Hill, Bournemouth. This very light ring with a tenor of three and a half hundredweight were cast from a redundant chiming bell from a convent in Surrey and three old chiming bells from Portsmouth dockyard.	BBD65
