WinRK is a great tool for keeping your peal records. However, entering the data can be very time consuming. Searching through old copies of The Ringing World can take months (even if you have access to back issues). Fortunately, help is at hand from PealBase. You can obtain a WinRK database file of your peals for a very modest cost. You will still need to purchase a copy of WinRK but all the hard work has been done for you.
How does it all work? First of all you email drew.craddock@gmail.com to obtain the current bank account details so that you can electronically send payment for the cost of the peals. I then email you a PDF file of your peals so that you can optionally proof read the data in an easy to read form. You will need Adobe Reader to view the PDF file but this can be downloaded free from the Adobe web site. Once you are happy with the data I will send you a .PBR file. This is easily imported into WinRK to set up your peals database. Alternatively, you can have just the PDF file at a reduced cost. Have a look at a sample peals PDF file to give you an idea of what to expect.
Payment is by electronic transfer. Please email me for my bank details so that you can make the payment electronically. This is cheaper and quicker for you than sending a cheque which would involve me in a one hour trip to the bank.
As from 1st June 2011, a new simplified pricing structure for PDF peal data came into operation. This means cheaper peal data for the majority of peal ringers. Pricing is ten pence per peal, subject to a minimum charge of two pounds. Remember that if you request an update of your peal information you don't pay for any peal data already sent to you (subject to the prevaling minimum charge).
Or email pealbase.errors@gmail.com to get a quotation for your peals.
