TowerBase - Running under Wine

TowerBase Home > Running under Wine

It is possible, using Wine, to run some Windows programs on computers running operating systems based on the Linux kernel. The most common for desktop computers is probably Ubuntu. I use Mint which is an operating system distribution based on Ubuntu.

Unfortunately, the standard TowerBase does not seem to work with Wine (which stands for Wine Is Not an Emulator). It seems to be a problem with Wine support for multi-threading although I have not had time to investigate fully.

I have begun developing a version of TowerBase which does work with Wine. You are welcome to try out this version, at no charge, which should also work okay under Windows 7 and Windows 8. At present it has limited functionality but it does have a full list of towers. It will be available for download from this website later in June 2014.
