1763	James Harrison, bellfounder of Barrow offered his services to the Dean and Chapter of Lincoln Cathedral to repair the six bells in the “Lady Steeple of the Minster”. This was the cathedral's second ring of bells, situated in the magnificent central tower. They ignored his offer. See July 8, 1772 and January 11, 1785.	CBLi519
1817	A band, all with the surname “Shaw”, rang a peal of Plain Bob Major at Mottram, Cheshire. Amongst the ringers were a father and four sons.	NP
1830	One of the earliest peals of Kent Treble Bob Royal was rung at Leeds, Yorkshire. It was called New Treble Bob at that time, the first peal of it having been rung at Leeds, Kent, some years earlier.	nv

1961	The seventh attempt for the extent of Major. After 15 hours of good ringing one of the band was unwell so the conductor, Robert B Smith, decided to shorten the peal. They finally ran round after 15 hours 30 minutes and 32,704 changes. This was the greatest number of changes ever rung to a peal. As luck would have it, once the die had been cast and steps taken to shorten the composition the ringer recovered and could have finished the peal! See November 4, 1960 and November 18, 1961. 1972	Marcus C W Sherwood conducted a 10,000 of Plain Bob Major at Llanfeugan, Brecon, for the Hereford Diocesan Guild. The peal, which took 5 hours and 30 minutes, was the longest for seven of the band and also for the Guild.	nv
