1778	The Braughing Youths, who had rung their first peal thirty-two years earlier, decided to ring a double length peal of Plain Bob Major. They rang 10,080 changes, in 6 hours and 34 minutes, with James Walker as conductor. He called a longer peal for them a year later. See September 30, 1746 and May 10, 1779.	nv
1834	James Pettit born. A prominent nineteenth century member of the College Youths, he called the first peal at St Paul's Cathedral, and rang in the long lengths at Fulham and Bethnal Green. He was also the conductor of the long peal of Stedman Cinques at St Michael, Cornhill in 1887 that was lost after 10,000 changes with only two bobs to be called. He died on May 12, 1912, aged 78.	nv
1895	James W Washbrook turned in the tenor at Wells Cathedral to a peal of Kent Treble Bob Royal. The previous December he had rung it single-handed to a peal of Grandsire Caters. It was considered impossible at that time to ring a peal on the bell with only one ringer.	nv
