1810	Henry Hubbard was born in Norwich. A noted member of the Norwich Scholars, he was not a prolific peal ringer but rang in the firsts of London Surprise and Double Oxford Major; the second of Superlative Surprise Major and the longest at that time of Stedman Cinques. He moved to Leeds in 1856 and rang a few peals there before his death on October 9, 1881. It is probably as an author he will be remembered; he wrote a very successful book on change ringing that went through four editions.	H&A/537
