1888	The bells of Swanage, Dorset, were opened after being augmented from four to eight.	nv
1892	Mr J. Cheadle had a lucky escape whilst winding the clock at Shifnal, Salop. The pulley jaws gave way and the half-ton weight fell thirty-five feet, scattering sections of it all around him. He reported that the tower seemed to shake!	nv
1913	A peal of Dublin Complex Major was rung at Gosforth, Northumberland, conducted by W H Barber. The method is unusual in that it was one of the first rung where the treble plain hunts but the bobs are made as in Treble Bob, giving an extending lead.	nv
1913	The Bishop of St Albans dedicated the new ring of twelve at Chelmsford in the presence of two other bishops and a very large congregation. John Warner had recast the old ten and added a new treble and tenor. This, the thirty-third ring of twelve, was said to be a revolutionary piece of bell-hanging by Warners, with self-aligning plain bearings and automatic lubrication. The bearings of the tenor each weighed half-one hundredweight, and held a pint of castor oil and a pound of grease!	RW13/226
