1890	The first recording of bells ever made took place on this day at St Martins-in-the-Fields. The Society of Royal Cumberland Youths rang Stedman Cinques, Treble Twelve, Queens and firing so Mr J H Fosset, of the Edison Phonograph Company, could make some trial recordings on one of the four machines in England at that time.	nv
1894	The record length of Double Norwich Court Bob Major was rung at Romford, Essex by the Society of Royal Cumberland Youths. The 13,440 changes, composed and conducted by George Newson, took 8 hours and 16 minutes to ring. The band had made an attempt the previous month at Brentwood, but lost the peal due to a rope breaking only two minutes from the end. See March 26, 1894 and April 3, 1899.	nv
