1783	Thomas Kay conducted 10,080 Plain Bob Major at Oldham, Lancs, in 5 hours and 30 minutes. This was a “training peal” for the 14,480 the following January. See January 4, 1784.	nv
1886	Thomas B. Worsley was born. He learned to ring at Bolton and rang his first peal in 1911. He held office in the Lancashire Association and was a member of the Central Council for ten years. He rang 287 peals, including 17,824 Oxford Treble Bob Major, 11,232 Superlative, 15,312 Cambridge Maximus. He was an excellent composer, including the first two record lengths given above. He died on April 23, 1944 aged 58.	nv
1923	The new bells at St. Michael's, Southampton , were dedicated this day. They had been cast nearly 8 years earlier, but had to be stored at the Croydon foundry owing to the condition of the spire.	nv
2007	Six pairs of siblings rang a peal of Cambridge Surprise Maximus at All Saints, Worcester, each ringer having rung over one thousand peals. The ringers were named Beck, Garton, Paul, Pipe, Randall and Rothera. (The only other thousand pealers who would have qualified at one time to take part were the brothers Pye, Price, Fellows and Moreton.) Four pairs of brothers rang an earlier peal.
