1884	The first clerical peal, Stedman Triples, was rung at Drayton, conducted by Revd. F. E. Robinson. A quarter was rung the previous evening to give seven of the band some practice! The peal was rung for the Oxford Diocesan Guild - perhaps not surprising as the entire band had been to Oxford University! Flushed with success the band attempted Holt's Original in the afternoon but a rope broke and insufficient time was left for another start.	BN1884/330

1965	N Mallett conducted 10,240 Plain Bob Major at Buckland-in-the-Moor, Devon, for the Guild of Devonshire Ringers. This peal, which took 5 hours and 14 minutes, was the longest for the Guild.	nv

1983	A peal of 8000 changes in 500 Surprise Major methods, spliced at both lead and half-lead, was rung at St. Andrew the Great, Cambridge, conducted by P. L. H. Brooke. Sixteen changes were rung of each method, all of which were rung for the first time. All 500 methods were based on one single one, with places moved around.	nv
