1754	Holt's Ten-part peal was rung for the first time at St Leonard, Shoreditch by the Cumberland Youths. George Partrick “call'd bobs”. For many years this remained the standard composition of Grandsire Triples and was only displaced by Parker's Twelve-Part after its publication in 1892.	CuY22
1775	The Chapel Youths from Stourbridge rang at Walsall “single-handed the first true peal of 5040 Bob Majors in 3 hours and 10 minutes to the Great Satisfaction of the Inhabitants.” The bells were a new ring by Rudhall and had just been opened by several bands from the Birmingham area. 1878	Bertram Prewitt was born in Hampstead, Middlesex. After Watford Grammar School and King's College, London he joined the Civil Service. Learnt to ring at Bushey and rang his first peal in March 1898, ringing nearly a thousand before his death in action twenty years later. See August 31, 1918.
1907	At the eighth attempt, Herbert Knight conducted Thurstan's One-Part peal of Stedman Triples whilst blindfolded, becoming the first person to accomplish this feat. See February 21, 1908.	BN1907/368
1912	Hilda F Willson rang her first peal. The daughter of William Willson, a well-known Leicestershire ringer and columnist in the Ringing World, she was, at thirteen years old, the youngest member of her sex to ring a tower-bell peal.	RW1912/258
